Hello!! Thank you for your interest in our branch of the Front Porch Project!!
My background is in photojournalism and the reason I became interested in photography is because I wanted to tell stories of people and places through authentic images. Although with weddings and lifestyle sessions I do end up doing some creative directing, I strive to keep the majority of my sessions as realistic as possible. I believe that documenting actual realities, raw emotions, and our every day moments is extremely important. By doing this, a history is captured in every image, be it for your own memories, or to visually record your legacy for future generations.
With this in mind I wanted to somehow capture this unprecedented time we are all experiencing. When I came across The Front Steps Project, launched by photographer Cara Souila and Kristen Collins, I knew it was the perfect project to take part in. It’s a wonderful way to safely document the pandemic we’re all living through, bring some joy to the families participating, and also give back to the community.
The effects of COVID-19 are hitting everyone hard, and we especially feel it as a small business. But even so, we’re fortunate enough to be getting through this time with the food & essentials we need, and we’re so grateful for that. However, there are many people in our community who are not in the same position. So to help raise donations for local families in need during this difficult time, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be taking part in the Front Porch Project (or yard/driveway/etc. if you don’t have a porch!) as the Sea Isle City & Cape May County Edition 🙂
The guidelines for the project are pretty simple… I (or another KDPS photographer) will arrive at your house at the designated time, and text to let you know I am there. I will take a few images from at least 10ft away, and then wave you a friendly goodbye and head off to my next appointment. You’ll receive an email within 24-48 hours with information for downloading your edited files!
Sessions will be 10 minutes and you will receive approximately 5 high-resolution and web images from your shoot! All files will be delivered digitally.
These session can be designed any way you’d like!! Feel free to dress up and put on something fun, or dress down and wear your “quarantine” clothes. You can include signs or props if you’d like, and be sure to include all members of the household (pets are welcome!!!)
All we ask is that in return for your session, you make a good faith donation to one of our local food banks, or a charity of your choice. We are working with The United Methodist Church of Sea Isle City and Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish of Marmora, who will be distributing food & monetary donations to their food banks. If you have a charity near and dear to your heart we welcome you to donate there as well! Donations can be monetary or food items, and any amount you can give is going to help families in need.
